After five and a half years on the Marietta Square, we closed the 2 Rules gallery at the end of April 2017.
We feel honored and grateful to have represented our wonderful and talented artists, and we appreciate all of our art-loving customers. We also value the relationships we have built with other Marietta business owners.
We are proud to have worked with all of you to help make the Marietta Square an arts destination!
Sincerely,
The Rule Family

Heather Shirin, The Unwritten Lyrics
A solo show by Heather Shirin
Heather Shirin's art nouveau portraits of women are done with acrylic, painted directly on ungessoed birch panels, purposely allowing the natural beauty of the wood grain to shine thru in the female figure’s skin. Her current series focuses on using fine art papers, metallic paints and gold leaf to create their hair, clothing and the background designs. Heather’s mixed media paintings are large scale, on deep birch panels - and are quite luminous with metallic and other reflective materials.

"As an Irish American, I have a cultural history of storytelling. I create artwork that on the surface tells a safe and comfortable story using recognizable images. As the viewer engages and considers the narrative, the deeper, more uncomfortable truths begin to emerge. The pieces are not intended to hold the answers about humanity, but rather cultivate questions to consider and discuss."
